Fireplaces

A focal point, properly engineered.

Fireplaces specified, vented and installed as part of the mechanical system — safe, correctly combusted and beautifully finished.

01Overview

A fireplace is an architectural moment and a combustion appliance at the same time. Both matter. Venting routes, clearances, combustion air, framing coordination and finish details all have to be resolved with the builder and designer before the wall is closed.

We handle the mechanical side: gas supply, venting, clearances and commissioning, coordinated with how the rest of the building heats and ventilates — including make-up air where a tight house needs it.

02Benefits

What a properly engineered system delivers

01

Correct venting

Vent runs and terminations are planned for the appliance and the building, not improvised on site.

02

Combustion air

Air supply is considered alongside exhaust equipment so the appliance operates safely.

03

Design coordination

Rough-in is coordinated early with framing, stone and millwork for a clean finished detail.

04

Comfort integration

Fireplace heat output is considered in the room's overall heating and ventilation strategy.

03Applications
  • Linear and traditional gas fireplaces
  • Two-sided and see-through installations
  • Outdoor fireplaces and heaters
  • Insert replacement in existing masonry openings
  • Gas line extension and venting
  • Service, inspection and commissioning
04Process
01

Assessment

We review the building, the existing system and how the space is used, then confirm what the project actually requires.

02

Design

Loads are calculated and equipment, distribution, zoning and controls are selected to match the building.

03

Installation

Work is executed to the drawing with clean routing, correct clearances and coordination with other trades.

04

Commissioning

The system is started, measured and adjusted, and we walk you through operation and maintenance.

05Questions

Frequently asked

Can a fireplace be added to an existing wall?+

Usually, subject to venting route, clearances and gas supply. We assess those before committing to a location.

Do you coordinate with builders and designers?+

Yes — the earlier the rough-in is coordinated, the cleaner the finished detail.

Will a fireplace heat the room it's in?+

Many do meaningfully. We factor that output into the room's heating strategy so the space doesn't overheat.
