01Overview

Modern buildings are built tight, which is good for energy and hard on air quality. Without deliberate ventilation, moisture, cooking by-products, odours and contaminants stay in the space. Mechanical ventilation replaces that air on purpose, at a measured rate.

We design balanced systems — heat and energy recovery ventilators, exhaust, make-up air and filtration — and commission them so the measured airflow matches the design intent rather than the equipment nameplate.

Frequently asked

What is the difference between an HRV and an ERV?+

Both recover heat from outgoing air. An ERV also transfers a portion of moisture, which can help in climates and buildings where humidity swings matter.

Does a powerful range hood need make-up air?+

In a tight house, usually yes. Without it, a large hood can depressurize the building and interfere with combustion appliances.

Can ventilation be added to an existing home?+

Yes. Routing is the main constraint, and we plan it around the finished spaces.
